6th Grade
World History-
First Quarter---Ice Man and up to Punic Wars.
Second Quarter--- Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley
Third Quarter--- Greece and Rome
Fourth Quarter--- Japan, India, and the Americas
Students will be required to take Cornell notes and be prepared for daily quizzes.
Knowing all of the continent of Africa and Asia will be required at the end of Quarter 3.
Weekly quizzes.
Each student will have a final project due at the end of each quarter. Creation of the projects will be done entirely in class.
Homework will be posted daily on google classroom.
7th Grade
Hawaiian Studies-
1st quarter- Captain Cook and up to King Kamehameha II.
2nd quarter- Kalaupapa, Kamehameha III, Kamehameha IV and Kamehameha V.
3rd quarter-Kamehameha VI, King Kalakaua, Queen Liliuokalani
4th quarter-Overthrow, World War I and World War II.
Students will be required to take Cornell notes and be prepared for daily quizzes.
Knowing the Hawaiian Islands. Additionally, Geography of the world will be added in weekly.
Each student will have a final project due at the end of each quarter. Creation of the projects will be done entirely in class.
Workbook homework done weekly.
Memorization of the Lords Prayer in Hawaiian will be said out loud daily in class.
Homework will be posted daily on my weebly.
8th Grade
Language Arts-
Weekly vocabulary book test each week. Students will be required to finish each chapter by Friday.
Poetry Unit (I Am poem contest).
Essay writing.
Preparation and start of 10 page paper. MLA style.
Novels: "To Kill A Mockingbird," "Whirligig," "Lord of the Flies", "Of Mice and Men," and "All Quiet On The Western Front."
Play--- Midsummers Nights Dream
United States History-
How does the world view America (linking the past to the present)? Project will be done entirely in class.
First and Second Quarter Declaration of Independence through War of 1812.
Presidential Election and Government
Civil War and Industrialism
World War I and World War II
Geography of the United States- mountains, rivers, capitals. South America- countries and capitals. Europe- countries and capitals.
Homework will be posted daily on Google Classroom.
